Jessica Saad’s self-titled EP features the young singer’s powerful pop voice. Her voice and style is wonderfully reminiscent of Laura Nyro, which of course is a compliement.
Miss Saad has an engaging voice range. Thankfully, the Seattle native disciplines herself to stay within her range and that pays great dividends to listeners. She beautifully plays with holding passages longer (notably on “Ready”) to obtain a very pleasant tremolo effect. In addition to her vocal ability, the lyrics and music speak of her skill.
Of the six song set, “The Girl You Once Loved” and the playful “All We Need” are stand outs. The EP, released in late August, is available on iTunes and Amazon and can be sampled at ReverbNation. Without a doubt, there is a lot to enjoy in Jessica Saad’s music.
